Jugl (www.getjugl.com) is a Chicago-based start-up (working at 1871) that is passionate about building software to make it easier to be a working parent. Our family calendar assistant is designed specifically for working parents, making it easier to manage the schedules & logistics of busy modern households. We are also commencing work on a smart family dashboard.

We are seeking a summer intern to focus on social media, marketing and communications. This is a hands-on position with lots of opportunity to work on and help shape all aspects of Jugl’s social media content, branding, communications style and marketing strategy.

You will work directly with our founder and extended team members as we build out our platform. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a growing start-up. Sample day-to-day activities:

• Create content for Jugl social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & LinkedIn

• Formalize content calendar and social media strategy (planning for holidays, events and company priorities)

• Research social media trends and recommend new ideas

• Curate and optimize graphics and images for web and social media

• Create regular social media metrics and analytics reports

• Generate creative ideas for how to share and spread the Jugl story with working parents

Requirements

Relevant Coursework & Requirements:

• English, Journalism, Communications or similar

• Love of writing and editing

• Passion for branding and messaging

• Attention to detail - ability to produce content quickly and accurately

• Fluency in digital platforms and social media trends

• Ability to craft impactful, creative content for all mediums, from Facebook posts to blogs and live video

• Eye for beautiful imagery and the ability to do basic formatting and image editing

Learning Objectives:

• Learn about optimizing various social media channels based on business objectives

• Learn about communicating with software users and refining messaging based on user feedback

• Develop and refine writing and branding skills

• Learn about other aspects of a technology start-up company
